Any graded activity can be made "bonus" by marking it as extra credit in the gradebook.
Extra Credit settings in gradebook setup
- Create a quiz or an assignment.
- Head to the gradebook setup view in the Grades page.
- Edit the settings of the activity
- Tick the Extra Credit checkbox
- Click Save Changes
