Moodle and Digital Assessments

Nowadays, educators face many challenges when it comes to grading assessments. Mainly, with larger classrooms, it becomes inefficient to conduct traditional paper based assessments for all students. Not to mention that grading the assessment for each student and recording the assessment in the Student Information System are two separate processes. Finally, manually transferring grades between physical medium and digital software or even between two electronic systems will increase the chances for human error. This complexity burdens the educator with duties that do not focus on the educational process, which eventually degrades the quality of the education output.

Therefore, it becomes essential for educators to focus on tools that manage the entire process of digital assessments. From creating the assessment, to conducting it and finally automatically/manually grading it while providing constructive feedback to the students.

This is where LMS (Learning Management Systems) such as Moodle come into play. This guide focuses on creating and configuring the gradebook in Moodle while exploring related features that Moodle LMS offers.
